Firm plans to turn DVD into games console

A firm is promising to turn conventional DVD players into games machines, it was reported today.

Zoo Digital says DVD extra will transform the passive playback medium into an interactive entertainment device.

It has signed a three-year deal with 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' creator Celador to develop interactive games.

The first of these will be a DVD version of the TV show.

The title is expected to be available for Christmas 2002 with further titles to follow in 2003.
