Intel launches 11 new chips for laptops

Intel Corp said it has launched 11 new processors for laptops.

The new family of chips, aimed at low power consumption for every mobile market segment, includes the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor which offers applications such as business multi-tasking, collaborative workgroups, video encoding, digital media and gaming.

The Mobile Intel Pentium III processor is designed for the emerging Tablet PC market.

Tablet PCs based on Intel mobile processors are expected to launch this autumn.
