Fiskars Brands standardises web services integration platform

Finnish company Fiskars Corporation is using web services to integrate global disparate operational and point-of-sale systems, at the company's largest business unit, Fiskars Brands Inc.

The company has chosen the IIONA Orbix E2A0 web services integration platform as the cornerstone of its company-wide global integration standardisation strategy.

The first step in Fiskars integration strategy will be to integrate its global JD Edwards implementation with multiple SQL Server and Microsoft's NT-based point-of-sale (POS) using IONA's E2A system. Fiskars Brands hopes to reduction operating expenses and increase cost efficiencies through standardisation.

Founded in 1649, Fiskars (HEX:FIS) is one of the oldest companies in the world. Fiskar Brands is a global manufacturer and marketer of branded consumer and industrial products.
