Vodafone aims to sell 1m camera phones
Vodafone Group PLC is aiming to sell about one milion camera phones across Europe by March next year, the Guardian reported quoting the company's chief executive Chris Gent.
Gent told the newspaper sales from the camera phones, which can send digital snaps with text, are to accelerate after that.
"That is when the uptick in revenues will start to bite," Gent said.
Gent further said the group's 3G services are to start generating sales in the second half of next year.
Its 3G network are to be available in certain parts of Europe by the third quarter.
"My genuine feeling is that by about midway through next year we will be able to turn on the services for real customers, assuming the handsets have been properly debugged, and then start ramping up sales in the second half of next year - but they will not come in huge volume," he added.
