Aero-engineering giant Rolls Royce has sold its Vickers Defence Systems land defence and bridging businesses to Alvis for £16.2m (€25.77m).

Aero-engineering giant Rolls Royce has sold its Vickers Defence Systems land defence and bridging businesses to Alvis for £16.2m (€25.77m).

London-based Alvis, which designs and builds armoured fighting vehicles, will take over the company's plants in Wolverhampton, Newcastle upon Tyne and South Africa.
