Avocent partners with IBM

Avocent Corporation has announced that it has shipped its first OEM consignment of its KVM over IP(TM) switching system to IBM.

The switching system is to be integrated with IBM's ACT Interconnect, which simplifies data centre cabling and management. The terms of the partnership are yet to be disclosed.

Avocent has its headquarters in Shannon, Co. Clare, where it employs 100 people.

The company manufactures KVM switching and network connectivity appliances to data centres.

The company has offices in Ireland, the UK, Germany and the US.
