BMW keen to invest in Malaysia, talks ongoing
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is keen to invest in Malaysia and discussions with the government and its local partners are ongoing, Bernama news agency said, quoting BMW group sales division senior vice president Luder Paysen.
Paysen did not provide details on the negotiations, which centre on the feasibility of BMW setting up its regional operations in the country.
As part of the deal, BMW wants to withdraw the wholesale rights to distribute its cars in Malaysia from Sime Darby Bhd, although the latter is expected to continue selling BMW vehicles to end-buyers.
