Conduit sees 40 percent rise in call volumes
Directory assistance operator, Conduit has released its figures for the first quarter ended June 30. The company reported a 41% rise in revenue from last year.
Revenues rose from €10.8m in Q1 last year to €15.3m. Net profit for the period was 5 cents a share, compared to a loss of 23 cents per share in 2001. The company has also said that its call volumes for the period have risen by 40%, or 24.4 million calls.
Last quarter, Conduit announced a return to profitability ahead of expectations. The company, which is currently quoted on the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt, has also sparked speculation that it is to be listed on the FTSE in London and the ISEQ.
Commenting on the results, the company's CEO, Liam Young said, "Conduit's gross margin improvement over the last four quarters is an immense achievement and is the result of a relentless focus on cost improvement and better efficiencies during the period."
Conduit plc specialises in the telecommunications industry, providing directory services. The company has its headquarters in Dublin and call centres in the UK, Austria and Switzerland.
The company currently employs 1,401 employees, including employees at Conduit Software, a specialist software development subsidiary.
