Esat rebrands in aid of new partnership

The Esat Group has been rebranded to Esat BT to show its commitment and partnership to its parent company, British Telecom.

Esat Business and Esat Fusion, the company's business and consumer divisions, will operate under the Esat BT brand.

Esat BT CEO Bill Murphy said, "With Esat firmly interconnected into the BT family, the Irish market can expect to continue to benefit from more competitive and innovative offerings covering voice, data, internet and e-business services and solutions."

He also said that Esat BT hopes to launch a flat-rate internet package in the coming months and that the company is working towards a major broadband roll-out.

"Esat BT is already aggressively championing the national rollout of broadband (DSL) services for both business and residential markets," said Murphy.

Esat Group was acquired by BT in 2000.
