Elan chairman resigns

The bio-pharmaceutical company, Elan, has announced its chairman and chief executive Donal Geaney has resigned.

The bio-pharmaceutical company, Elan, has announced its chairman and chief executive Donal Geaney has resigned.

Mr Geaney's departure follows that of vice chairman Tom Lynch.

The troubled firm, which is headquartered in Dublin, was once the biggest company quoted on the Irish Stock Exchange.

Elan is now at the centre of an investigation into its accounting system and its share price has collapsed.
