EU delegation visits North Korea

A European Union delegation has visited North Korea for talks on improving relations, reports said today.

Radio Pyongyang said five EU delegates arrived in Pyongyang on Saturday.

The North Korean broadcaster did not elaborate on the visit. But South Korea's Yonhap news agency said the EU mission would hold the fifth round of political dialogue with North Korea during a four-day stay in the country.

The mission is expected to discuss human rights and weapons of mass destruction issues and urge North Korea to be a more responsible member of the international community, Yonhap said.

The EU delegation will visit South Korea on June 18 to brief officials here on the outcome of its Pyongyang trip, it said.
