Heinz recall baby cereal

A batch of baby food has been recalled amid concern it may cause an allergic reaction in infants, makers Heinz announced today.

The warning relates to around 300 cartons of Farley’s Breakfast Sunrise Banana cereal which were incorrectly filled with a different variety containing wheat and eggs.

Most have already been sold but Heinz say if parents have one in the batch they should throw away the content and return the packaging to them.

The batch concerned come in 125g packs and are marked 1st Aug 2003 LOT 206D, and is intended for babies four months and above.

Rather than banana they contain a recipe for vegetable pasta with cheese.

Adverts making parents aware of the recall will appear in the national press tomorrow.
