Xonen to develop manufacturing operations in Mayo

Xonen, an Irish R&D company, that develops next generation optical disc storage technology, has announced that its R&D programme has developed optical wafer technology, positioned to become the new industry platform for next generation optical discs, such as DVD and new High Density formats.

Xonen's platform will allow global media manufacturing companies to manufacture products at quality levels never achieved before. As a result of this development, the company plans to recruit up to 60 people in order to expand its manufacturing capacity over the next 12 months.
