Vodafone is likely to announce write-offs for some of its small, listed businesses.

However some investors are speculating that Vodafone might as well make a substantial good-will write-down between £15bn (€23.8bn) and £25bn (€39.6bn) coming from its acquisition of Mannesmann, Germany.

Vodafone paid £113bn (€179bn) for Mannesmann two years ago.
