Staff criticise Iona Technologies

Iona Technolgies' lawsuit against its spin-off Cape Clear Software aimed at preventing the appointment of Iona's former sales director, has been criticised by former staff members.

When the legal action started, Annrai O'Toole (Iona's founder) resigned as a member of the board of Iona.

However, Iona lost the case but intends to appeal the decision.

Cape Clear co-founder and a former Iona employee David Clarke said that Iona has blocked several attempts to settle the issue out of court.

Clarke commented: "It is a tough enough time in the Irish software industry without two of its leading firms meeting each other in court rooms".

Other critics came from several former Iona's workers, who stated that normally Iona maintains good relationships with its numerous spin-offs.

These include Prediction Dynamics, Rococo Software, TSL, Zenark, Wilde and Sabadille Systems.
