Altamedius joins global m-commerce alliance

Altamedius has become the first Irish company to join a new global mobile commerce alliance, the PayCircle Consortium.

The alliance was founded earlier this year by HP, Lucent, Oracle, Siemens and Sun to create standards for mobile payments and encourage the worldwide growth of mobile commerce.

Altamedius, formerly known as Artic Web, is a Delta Partner funded company.

Based in Dublin, it recently signed an agreement with Vodafone for the provision of micro payment services to its Irish customers.

Altamedius's software is aimed at banks and mobile phone operators - it provides a framework for them to act as a broker in mobile transactions through the provision of user-profiling, billing support, authentication and secure transaction services.
