Gridlock is crippling economy, says IBEC

The economy is being crippled by traffic congestion, a new report has revealed.

The study by IBEC of almost 600 companies shows that traffic is having an adverse impact on delivery, scheduling and road haulage costs.

IBEC’s transport director, Reg McCabe, says 50% of the responses were from Dublin and 50% were from the rest of the country, proving every region is being affected by the difficulties.

The survey shows that 71% of companies see traffic having an adverse impact on staff punctuality. Nearly 40% of Dublin companies say they are considering re-locating to avoid gridlocks.
