Xilinx opens European data centre at Irish facility
The global programmable logic company Xilinx has opened a new €3m European data centre at its international R&D engineering and operations centre in Dublin.
Xilinx employs 350 people. As the corporation’s European data hub, the new centre will centrally service the information processing requirements of all major Xilinx operations in Europe.
Xilinx currently has a 14mb voice and data on a round the clock basis and 365 days a week.
The move forms a key part of Xilinx’s €52m facilities expansion programme in Ireland and is seen to add further strategic significance to the Irish centre within Xilinx’s global operations.
