Parthus Navstream in location field trials
Parthus has disclosed results of field trails that were undertaken in conjunction with a number of semiconductor, operator and handset companies.
The trials demonstrate the breakthrough capability of Parthus' NavStream A-GPS [ Assisted Global Positioning System] technology to operate indoors and in environments that are traditionally very challenging for GPS.
NavStream was tested in a number of multiple usage environments.
The results showed near instant [typically under 5 seconds] and near perfect accuracy [typically between 5 and 10 metres].
For example in shopping centres, the most challenging simulated a consumer walk around at various concourse levels, with no windows or roof skylights and some tunnelled walkways.
Throughout the trial the user was tracked to often better than 30 m. In trials covering domestic dwellings mean position accuracy was 5 metres.
