DSP Group and Parthus confirm discussions

Group and Parthus are in discussions regarding a potential combination of Parthus' business and DSP Group's intellectual property licensing business.

DSP Group had previously announced the contemplated spin-off of its IP licensing business. The companies have also confirmed that the discussions do not involve an acquisition of Parthus by the DSP Group.

DSP Group develops and markets licensable DSP [digital signal processing technologies] which solutions for applications such as mobile, broadband communication, multimedia and other types of embedded-control applications.

If Parthus were to acquire DSP's licensing operation it would give the company a broader range of chip manufacturing customers
