Macalla reduces headcount by 11
Dublin headquartered Macalla Software has announced that it is to reduce its Irish and overseas headcount by 11. Nine of the jobs affected will be in Dublin. Macalla currently employs 65 people.
"We regret having to take this action but we are not immune to the slowdown in technology spending in the telecommunications and financial sectors," commented Niall O'Cleirgh (CEO, Macalla Software). "It is prudent to align our cost base with current market conditions."
Macalla Software, which was founded in 1998, specialises in mobile e-Commerce platforms and solutions to mobile operators and enterprises.
Its technology is behind one of Europe's largest mobile e-Commerce deployment in the Netherlands. This supports 500,000 users in a banking/telco joint venture with ING/Postbank Nederland and Telfort (MMO2).
