Alcatel said it signed an agreement with the Orange Sverige consortium to supply a UMTS third-generation mobile phone network.

No financial details were given.

Alcatel said it will supply its Evolium network centre and radio access products plus a complete range of professional services and operational support systems.

Evolium is 66%-owned by Alcatel and 33% by Fujitsu Ltd

Orange SA has 85% of Orange Sverige. The other shareholders are Skanska AB with 10%, NTL Inc with 3%, and Schibsted ASA with 2%.
