Esat announces 200 job losses

The Esat Group has announced that it is restructuring its business operations in Ireland.

The Esat Group has announced that it is restructuring its business operations in Ireland.

It is merging its Esat Business division and its residential division Esat Fusion into one central entity named Esat Group.

As a result of the restructuring around 200 jobs will be lost out of its total workforce of 1,300 staff currently employed.

The jobs losses will be spread across its operations.

Esat Group offers fixed-line communications services and solutions to the business and consumer markets.

It has operated as two separate divisions for the past two years.

It expects the restructuring to be in place for the new financial year, beginning 1 April, 2002.
