ICL signs €17m motor tax deal

IT services firm ICL has signed a three-year, €17m deal with the Department of the Environment and Local Government.

The firm won the contract to completely remodel and manage the information infrastructure in motor taxation offices throughout the country.

ICL will provide the clustered enterprise servers behind an initiative which will allow vehicle owners to tax their car from any of the country's 40 motor taxation offices.

Up to now, vehicle owners could only tax their cars in the county where it was registered.
