Ryanair allowed to advertise 'Frankfurt-Hahn'

A court in Germany has ruled that Ryanair can continue to advertise its base in the town of Hahn as Frankfurt-Hahn, despite the fact that it is 60 miles from the city of Frankfurt.

However, the court also ruled that Ryanair cannot compare fares on its flights to Hahn with Lufthansa’s fares on flights to Frankfurt’s main airport.

The ruling was handed down as an interim injunction after Lufthansa challenged Ryanair over its description of Hahn as Frankfurt-Hahn.

The matter is due back before the court on March 19.
