IONA to join web services organisation

IONA has announced its intention to join the Web Services Interoperability organisation, an open industry group formed to accelerate the adoption and deployment of web services.

The WS-I will promote existing and future web services standards defined by organisations such as the World Wide Web Consortium [W3C] and organisation for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards [OASIS] to enable interoperability across platforms, applications and programming languages.
