EAP to launch broadband service in Dublin

European Access Providers [EAP] are soon to launch a new broadband wireless DSL network into the Dublin market.

EAP was the joint venture partner of Formus Communications, which launched Ireland's first broadband wireless service in October, 2000.

It shut down in March, 2001, due to the closure of its US parent company.

EAP was established in 1996 by brothers Rory and Charlie Ardagh.

The new EAP broadband service will target the small and medium corporate sector and aims to provide businesses with a fast, affordable internet access.

It is planned that the service will be launched with the next two months.

The company will operate its own network, independent of other operators and infrastructure requirements.

EAP says that the wireless nature of the network should allow it to install services within days of receiving an order.
