Mm02 announces deals with Microsoft and Handspring

Mobile operator Mm02, the parent company of Digifone has announced deals with Microsoft and Handspring for the provision of data services over wireless devices.

Mm02, together with its subsidiaries in Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands, intends to launch a range of services over GPRS for the corporate customer. These would include secure wireless access to corporate intranets and Microsoft Exchange data, including e-mail and web browsing.

Mm02 like other operators is anxious to promote the take up of data services. According to Mm02’s CEO this now represents 10% of the company revenues but he sees this increasing to 25% within the next three years.
