250 jobs are to be created at Oracle’s new centre which was opened by the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

Oracle's Global Development and IT Services Centre Building is at East Point Business Park, Dublin. This opening marks the fourth Oracle building to be housed on the northside business campus and will accommodate three Divisions - Worldwide Product Localisation, the European Development and Technology Centre and Global IT Services. The cost of the fit-out of the new building was €6.98m.

This is Oracle's sixth Irish location overall and Oracle says that the expansion re-affirms the company's commitment to it Irish operations. The company say it has 60 open positions across all divisions and is aiming to recruit over 250 new staff in 2002. Oracle Ireland employs approx 975 people in Ireland and handles sales of Oracle products in the EMEA region in excess of US $ 2bn.
