Durkan announces £11m investment to create 550 new jobs

550 new jobs in software development will be created as a result of an £11m investment by Northbrook Technology NI Ltd.

This was announced in the past couple of days by Mark Durkan, Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister. 250 jobs will be created in Derry and 300 in Belfast.

Northbrook Technology NI Ltd has been offered selective financial assistance of Stg £3.1m by the IDB [Industrial Development Board] towards the cost of the investment.

Northbrook Technology NI Ltd was established in 1998 and presently employs 250 people at its Belfast Centre.

Northbrook is part of US owned Allstate Insurance Corp, of Illinois, the largest personal insurance company in the United States.
