CSFB Tech Conference - CSFB's strategist Tom Galvin comments

Tom Galvin said that the best comment at last week CSFB's Tech Conference was delivered by the Chairman of Texas Instruments who said "the best part of life in tech land today is that 2001 is damn near over and the only true predictable item is how many days are left on the calendar."

This was the only comment agreed to by all delegates.

It appears that the majority of company viewpoints suggest that third quarter 2001 was the bottom in fundamentals in the current down cycle.

Information technology spending is by no means dead, particularly as new product cycles converge with a growing replacement cycle.
