Government website for business launched

Tánaiste Mary Harney today officially launch the BASIS website (www.basics.ie) which provides business with a single access point to all government information and services.

The site went live in May 2001 and delivers information around the concept of events (everyday actions of business).

The first one was the event "Employing Staff" and each of the remaining 11 events will be delivered in a modular basis by early 2002.

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has been responsible for the development of the BASIS (Business Access to State Information and Services) website which is part of the Government Action Plan ‘Implementing the Information Society in Ireland’.
