Lower Saxony's Gabriel to keep VW stake, sees no threat of takeover
Sigmar Gabriel, prime minister of Lower Saxony, said the north German state will hold on to its 18.6% stake in Volkswagen AG, and no longer sees a threat the carmaker is a hostile takeover target.
"I see no reason to give up the holding," Gabriel, who also sits on VW's supervisory board, told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
