Company fined over deaths of workers
Naas Circuit Court has fined a company £200,000 in connection with the death of two of its employees on a construction site in Newbridge, Co Kildare, three years ago.
The director of the firm was also fined £40,000, while the former director of another firm received an 18-month suspended sentence for recklessness.
A machine driver who worked on the site was fined £1,000.
Sean Treacy and Robert Dunne died after being buried alive when a trench they were working in collapsed on top of them in 1998.
