Gloomy forecast for economy

The economy today received one of its gloomiest short-term assessments in nearly a decade.

The report from the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which highlighted a rapid deceleration in Ireland’s fortunes, coincided with confirmation of more job losses.
