Eurologic teams up with Intel

Irish company Eurologic is to develop and market Serial Advanced Technology Attachment [Serial ATA] network storage solutions with Intel Corporation.

Serial ATA is a high performance connectivity interface to connect disk drives within storage systems.

This is newly emerging technology that will have initial information transfer rates of up to 1.5 Gigabyte per second, with future plans to support a 6 Gigabyte per second transfer rate.

New features and improvements include thinner and longer cabling, better cable connections, lower power requirements and lower pin counts in connectors, all important factors in the global storage industry.

Eurologic and Intel will integrate Intel's S-ATA Input/Output building block technologies, including Input/Output processors and S-ATSA silicon, into Eurologic's storage systems technology.
