BBC to axe 129 jobs

Almost 130 staff are to lose their jobs in the BBC’s Factual and Learning division which makes documentaries, religious and arts programmes, the corporation announced today.

The job cuts, which will affect staff in London and Manchester, represented a reduction of over-staffing and a ‘‘streamlining’’ of the department, the corporation said.
