Carphone Warehouse jumps in to back Pogo handheld
Carphone Warehouse has announced it is to be the first retailer to offer the Pogo mobile phone PDA.
The company says it will begin sales of the hybrid device from the end of January next year.
It promises web browsing, email, MP3 and mobile phone functions in a single lightweight device.
Its creators say Pogo will be able to offer 3G level functions on existing mobile phones networks.
The device uses a system that squeezes web pages to a fifth of their original size.
The company, Pogo Technology, claims this will allow it to deliver more streamlined browsing than is possible on other 2G powered gadgets.
