Aer Lingus appoint new chief executive

Aer Lingus has appointed a former pilot, Willie Walsh, as company chief executive.

Aer Lingus has appointed a former pilot, Willie Walsh, as company chief executive.

Walsh has been the Airline’s chief operating officer since 1998.

He also ran Aer Lingus Charter Subsidiary, Futura, before that.

The appointment comes as airline management prepares to brief 6,000 employees of redundancy plans.
