Bank giant to launch recruitment drive

Halifax and Bank of Scotland are to launch a massive expansion into business banking after their £30bn merger takes effect today.

The banks will kick off a recruitment drive for more than 500 staff as shares in the combined group HBoS begin trading for the first time.
