Fresh Euro warning issued

With just five months to go before the Euro arrives in Irish pockets there are fresh warnings to consumers to be on their guard.

The Consumers Association of Ireland is attacking retailers who have increased their prices prior to the introduction of the new currency.

It wants shoppers to report retailers who use the changeover to up their prices.

Meanwhile, the Euro Changeover Board is expressing confidence that growing

numbers of Irish people are becoming aware of the arrival of the new currency.

The board claimed that 80% of Irish citizens now know the conversion rate.
