Hitachi is reportedly set to slash 20,000 jobs because of falling worldwide demand.

The company is adjusting its plan to cut jobs throughout its group, the nationally circulated Yomiuri newspaper said. The semiconductor, electronic devices and electronic components divisions are said to be under threat.
