Aer Lingus may reduce number of flights

Aer Lingus may be facing a new crisis today, with predicted losses of £20m.

It is claimed that under a survival plan, the airline may have to reduce it’s number of flights by 15% and off-load older aircraft.

The survival plan proposes that there be dramatic reductions on routes to North America, some cuts in Europe and an embargo placed on the purchase of new aircraft.

The death of company chairman Bernie Cahill at the weekend is not expected to delay implementation of the new plan.
