Unions seek assurances on Marconi jobs

Unions will meet Marconi managers this week amid fears that its tumbling share price puts the telecoms firm in danger of being taken over.

Marconi, which recently announced 4,000 job cuts, last month warned that profits and revenues would be hit by the downturn in the telecom sector.
