British meat industry under fire from BSE research

The British meat industry was today under fire after senior Government scientists complained that manufacturers were stalling BSE research.

Three of the Government’s top scientists have complained to the Chief Medical Officer about the industry’s ‘‘reluctance’’ to help with research into the use of cheap meat potentially infected with mad cow disease.
