Airbus set up Japanese company

Europe’s Airbus Industries set up a subsidiary in Japan today to promote a planned double-decker super jumbo jet and to challenge the dominance of US rival Boeing in the Japanese market.

The establishment of Airbus Japan underlines the determination of the aircraft manufacturer to strengthen its foothold in a key market where it lags behind Boeing.
