The board of the Smurfit Corporation is expected to face angry protests at its annual general meeting in Dublin today.

Institutional shareholders are due to voice their opposition to a bonus payment of almost £3m to chairman Michael Smurfit at a time when the company's share price has fallen from €3.50 (euros) to €2.15 (euros) over the past year.
