Vodafone reels as investors react to £4.8bn deal

Vodafone is the one of the most significant companies in the FTSE-100 index so, when it suffers, the Footsie does too.

That's why the index is now down 12.3 points, despite strong gains overnight in the US where the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.5%.
