Disney plays down talk of buying Yahoo

A Walt Disney spokesman has played down speculation that the company might be interested in buying Yahoo!

Disney chairman and chief executive officer Michael Eisner was quoted at a conference saying his company would be interested in buying Yahoo if the acquisition price fell.

Asked about Mr Eisner's alleged remark, the spokesman said: "I can't confirm it. It might have been said in jest. It's just a rumour that's been floating around for some time. Any discussion of Disney buying Yahoo, or Yahoo buying Disney is just speculation."
