Cable & Wireless is investing £300 million in an undersea cable to meet an expected boom in transatlantic internet traffic.

The telecommunications giant says it will work with French firm Alcatel in developing the Internet Protocol transatlantic cable, known as Apollo, to meet growing IP and data demand.
